5th Graders Complete STEM Activities

The fifth grade students at North Elementary recently completed a STEM
(science, technology, engineering and math) activity. Students brought
in old machines to take apart and study the simple machines inside.
After students deconstructed their items, they used pieces and parts to
create new machines that accomplished a specific task. The task was to
pop a water balloon using five steps and at least two simple machines.
The students worked very hard and the machines succeeded in popping the
water balloons.
